Project Management Intern – Product Team

We are looking for a Project Management Intern to support the team across three strategic teacher-focused programmes: GEM, MAPS and LEAP.

About the role

As a Project Management Intern, you will contribute to the coordination, delivery and continuous improvement of several cross-school programmes involving teachers, school leaders, external partners and internal teams across different African countries.

You will work on a varied combination of project management, programme coordination, communication, data tracking, stakeholder follow-up, logistics and process improvement.

The role is particularly suited to someone who enjoys turning plans into action, coordinating multiple stakeholders, working with digital tools and learning quickly in a fast-moving international environment.

Key responsibilities

1. Support the GEM Teacher Recruitment Programme

You will support the team throughout the recruitment cycle, including:

• Supporting communication and marketing activities for the annual GEM campaign, particularly on social media 
• Supporting the set-up and ongoing use of the SMA recruitment platform and other digital recruitment tools.
• Following up with candidates throughout the different stages of the recruitment process.
• Coordinating communication and engagement with staff ambassadors supporting the campaign.
• Maintaining and updating recruitment data and tracking tools.
• Supporting the organisation and logistics of candidate interviews, including scheduling and coordination with interviewers.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of the GEM recruitment process, based on data, feedback and lessons learned from each campaign.

2. Support the MAPS Teacher Mentorship Programme

You will support the operational coordination of the programme by:

• Acting as a point of contact for externally recruited mentors.
• Supporting mentor onboarding and ongoing communication.
• Managing programme logistics through Google Classroom and other collaboration tools.
• Following up on teachers' participation, progress and engagement.
• Maintaining programme tracking and monitoring tools.
• Supporting communication between teachers, mentors, schools and the Product Team.
• Following up on the programme's governance and coordination structures, ensuring that key meetings, follow-ups and reporting processes take place as planned.
• Identifying operational issues and supporting the team in finding practical solutions.

3. Support the LEAP Teacher Training Programme

You will contribute to the launch and delivery of a new six-month cohort by:

• Supporting the launch and onboarding of a new cohort of teacher-trainees.
• Coordinating with schools to understand teacher availability, timetables and opportunities for co-teaching and practical training.
• Helping coordinate the practical and logistical aspects of the training programme.
• Supporting the translation and adaptation of training content from English into French, ensuring consistency of terminology and meaning.
• Contributing to the development of a catalogue of standalone professional development modules.
• Supporting the team in collecting feedback and identifying opportunities to improve the training experience.

Candidate profile

We are looking for someone who is curious, organised and comfortable working in an international and fast-changing environment.

Essential

• Fluent in both French and English, written and spoken.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills.
• An interest in project management, with some previous experience or a strong willingness to develop these skills.
• Comfortable working with digital tools and learning new software quickly.
• Good attention to detail and ability to manage several activities simultaneously.
• An adaptable and proactive mindset, with the ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for support.
• An avid learner, curious about new topics, tools and ways of working.
• Good digital and AI literacy, with an interest in exploring how AI can improve workflows and productivity.
• A personal computer/laptop suitable for professional use.

• An interest in international education and education systems in Africa.
• An interest in teacher professional development and learning & teaching.
• Previous experience in project coordination, programme management, operations, education, recruitment or a related field.
• An analytical mindset and an interest in using data to improve processes.
• Experience working in a multicultural or international environment.
